- Though relatively new to the scene, Laine, the Swiss-based independent brand, has caught the eye of many seasoned collectors with their exceptional artistry and attractive designs. Only founded in 2014, the brand has received much recognition including the A. Lange & Söhne's F.A. Lange Watchmaking Excellence Award in the same year. Trained in the same Finnish school of watchmaking as Stepan Sarpaneva and Kari Voutilainen, Torsti Laine is undoubtedly in some good company, and it shows in his creations.
- Striving to the create elegant timepieces for everyday wear, the Laine V38 was introduced in 2021, boasting a beautifully embellished blue dial, framed in a 38mm diameter stainless steel case. Composed of three individual sections, the present example is sporting the most exclusive triple guilloche dial, featuring Grain de Riz in the center, Panier on the hour chapter and Clous de Paris in the small seconds, all in a stunning shade of blue. Topped with white gold Breguet numerals, the V38's dial is a tastefully executed creation with a remarkable illusion of depth to it.
- The sapphire caseback invites the wearer to admire the striking Vaucher VMF 5401 movement within. Finished to Laine's highest standards with Côtes de Genève throughout, hand-beveled bridges, and Laine's highly decorated calligraphy-style micro-rotor, the VMF 5401 looks just as finely tuned as the in-house high-horology movements larger brands offer.
