Full-Cataloguing
- Revealed in 2013, the blue lacquered dial Reverso is a tribute to the layout of the original Reverso from 1931. As for the colour of the dial, the royal blue, glossy lacquered dial is inspired by a blue dial variation of the Reverso in 1933, where the only difference is that the small seconds is not to be seen as to make the Duoface Bleu closer to the 1931 layout. The “Reverso” logo also uses the same font as the original watch, reflecting the historic look of the classic.
- On the reverse, the clous de Paris guilloche white dial creates a big contrast to the blue dial at the front. The sword shaped hands are finished in Super-LumiNova, including the small hand at the 24-hour subdial with “Day/Night” indicators. It is a more modern take to the Reverso, a very different style than the other side.
- The present Reverso was a special edition that was only available at Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques, accompanied by the set of accessories, it is surely not a watch that can be encountered regularly.
Jaeger-LeCoultre
Swiss | 1833Not all companies in the watchmaking field have been able to stand the test of time quite like Jaeger LeCoultre, also known as the "watchmaker's watchmaker." Founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre and originally named LeCoutre, the firm provided watchmaking's top brands, such as Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet, the high-grade, unfinished mechanical movements with which they completed their watches.
In the early 1900s, Cartier's watch supplier Edmond Jaeger sought out LeCoultre's help in creating the world's thinnest watches. The collaboration resulted in the creation of Cartier's earliest Tank and Santos watches, all housed with LeCoultre movements. The duo decided to merge in 1937, and the firm officially became the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand by which collectors know and adore it today. Some of the firm's most significant and important timepieces include the Reverso, the Memovox, the Atmos clock and, among modern watches, their Master Complications.
