IWC first released the Portugieser Chronograph Rattrapante reference 3712 back in 1995, and this split-seconds chronograph of the iconic Portugieser model has soon gained a big reception. The standard reference 3712 is cased in an oversized 41mm case, with a clean and straightforward dial layout. The present example was produced as a limited edition of 30 pieces for the retailer Cortina Watch in Singapore, featuring a black dial in the slim Portugieser case.
The watch houses the manual cal. 76240, which was developed by Richard Habring by using the ETA 7750 chronograph movement as the base. In order to fit the split-seconds complication, the self-winding mechanism was removed, making the watch works on manual and keeping a slim and classy profile.
