Catalogue Essay
• Founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco, Hublot is a Swiss manufacturer with a distinct “porthole” case design and known for their “art of fusion” philosophy combining traditional material with futuristic ones. In 2005, under the leadership of famed Jean-Claude Biver, Hublot released their “Big Bang” model, which won Best Design at the 2005 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix. Today the Big Bang remains a signature model of the brand with cases combining advanced materials like steel, ceramic, Kevlar, carbon fiber, rubber, and gold and featuring “H”-shaped screws on the bezel.

• The present Big Bang from approximately 2019 has a polished and satin-finished stainless steel case with a satin-finished stainless steel bezel and 6 “H”-shaped titanium screws, which are complimented by a matte black dial with red seconds markers and red chronograph hand. The automatic caliber HUB4100 is visible from the sapphire case back.

• Offered by the original owner, the chronograph is in excellent condition and complete with guarantee and presentation box.

Hublot

Swiss | 1980
Hublot was founded by Carlo Crocco in 1980 and named after the French word for "porthole," which resembles their iconic bezel design. Hublot's first watch followed three years of research and was the first wristwatch to be fitted with a natural rubber strap. The brand's most recognizable watch today is the 'Big Bang', which was first launched in 2005 upon the arrival of CEO and shareholder Jean-Claude Biver. Other noteworthy models are the 'Classic Fusion' and 'King Power'.
