Catalogue Essay
Launched in 2009, the Hublot King Power was developed based on the firm’s philosophy of fusion. Offering a larger 48mm diameter case than the Big Bang, the King Power was the timepiece of choice with various collaborations with the world of sports including F1, football, basketball and sailing.

To commemorate the 33rd American Cup, Hublot created a series of limited edition King Power timepieces as the official timepiece for the team to compete and defend its title in the race. Encased in Hublot’s classic black ceramic and titanium case, the present example features the Alinghi logo at the 9 O’clock position of the dial in red vibrant against its all-black semi-skeletonized dial.

The present lot numbered 81 of a limited edition 333 pieces is offered in excellent overall condition with its full set of accessories.

Hublot

Swiss | 1980

Hublot was founded by Carlo Crocco in 1980 and named after the French word for "porthole," which resembles their iconic bezel design. Hublot's first watch followed three years of research and was the first wristwatch to be fitted with a natural rubber strap. The brand's most recognizable watch today is the 'Big Bang', which was first launched in 2005 upon the arrival of CEO and shareholder Jean-Claude Biver. Other noteworthy models are the 'Classic Fusion' and 'King Power'.
