Catalogue Essay
- Inspired by the notable Rolex ref. 6088 “Galaxy” from the 1950s, the Erwin “Star” was introduced in 2021 as a collaborative endeavor between Habring² and SJX.
- As a watchmaking brand known for producing timepieces with unusual features and complications at an affordable price range, Habring2 has been the winner of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) prize multiple times since it was founded by Austrian husband-and-wife duo, Richard and Maria Habring.
- Produced in a scarcely limited edition of 50 pieces, the Erwin “Star” was sold out within minutes after its launch.
- The model is distinctively a contemporary interpretation of the post-war era aesthetic, featuring a rich and charming blue dial contrasted poetically against the gold star-set numerals made of gilded brass.
- Housed in a 38.5mm stainless steel case, the model’s calibre A11s is developed in-house by Harbring2 and features a dead beat seconds complication.
- The present example Erwin “Star” is numbered 7 from its edition of 50 pieces and preserved in excellent condition accompanied by all its original accessories.
