- Habring² is the brainchild of Richard and Maria Habring, a husband-and-wife team of watchmakers and multiple-time winners of the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). After gaining experience with various brands, the duo established their workshop in Austria in 2004. Their focus has been on crafting timepieces that feature rare complications and exceptional functionality, all while maintaining an accessible price point.
- This Pilot model showcases a movement developed in-house by the Habring team, featuring the captivating deadbeat seconds complication. This ingenious mechanism, first introduced in the mid-17th century but rarely seen in wristwatches until the mid-20th century, ensures the second-hand advances in precise one-second increments. While the escapement continues to beat, the hand remains still until a full second has passed, creating a fascinating display of mechanical precision.
- This example features a matte black dial with applied Breguet numerals at the poles and a polished stainless-steel case. Most known examples of the Jumping Second Pilot feature large lume-filled Arabic numerals placed in the outer scale; this model, on the other hand, features applied markers every five minutes on the outer scale with Breguet numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock on the dial's interior, according to research, this dial was fitted on earlier generation models.
