Catalogue Essay
H. Moser & Cie stunned the watchmaking world in 2005 when they released the ingenious Endeavour Perpetual. The model gained instant acclaim, soon winning the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve's highly coveted Complication Prize in 2006 for its forward-thinking excellence.
Considered one of the simplest and most elegant perpetual calendars even produced, the Endeavour forgoes calendar clutter with its clean dial and big date display. The month is indicated by a central hand pointing to each hour index, aligning the 12 indices with the 12 months of the year. A subtle power reserve at 9 o'clock completes its minimalist aesthetic throughout. H. Moser chose to display discreetly the leap year indicator on the flip side, it is cleverly positioned at 12 o'clock on the movement. The Endeavour Perpetual Calendar is not just simple in appearance, but also technically brilliant. Equipped with an instantaneous perpetual calendar that jumps precisely at midnight, with an additional innovation being the replaceable escapement module for easy servicing for the years to come.
Presented in excellent condition and the only known piece to be cased in platinum, this Endeavour with “funky blue” dial is a masterclass in innovative watchmaking and a unique offering. Equally suited to dress up or down, its balanced aesthetic and conversational design make it a must-have for perpetual calendar lovers and minimalist timepieces alike.
