  • Catalogue Essay

-Launched in 2022 as a limited edition of 306 pieces, the Laureato Absolute Chronograph Aston Martin F1 Edition features a cutting-edge 44mm case. It is composed of a blend of titanium powder and carbon elements taken from two F1 race cars used during the 2021 season; a first in the watch industry. Extremely resistant as well as light, the case is rendered in black with splashes of metallic and green icicles further mounted on a complementing black and green rubber strap.

-The dial of the watch is presented in the iconic ‘Aston Martin Racing Green’ with shimmering sunray finishes and is adorned with cross-hatching, giving the watch a sporty, even reptilian appeal. This motif can be traced back to the Aston Martin ‘AM’ badge of 1921, where the A and M were intertwined.

-Furthermore, the dial features open-worked hands throughout, imbuing the design with a note of speed and refinement. A dash of lime colour is also used to identify the chronograph hands and pushers to emulate the lemony lines on the Aston Martin F1 car.

-Girard-Perregaux fitted this emblematic model with its self-winding chronograph movement, the calibre GP03300. Guaranteeing effortlessly accurate timekeeping, the movement is complemented by refined finishing including Côtes de Genève, chamfering and straight graining. For the first time on a Laureato Absolute Chronograph, the caseback has been fitted with a sapphire crystal, allowing the wearer to admire the watch to its fullest.

-Offered by the original owner in excellent overall condition and accompanied by all its original accessories, the present watch will delight all the petrol heads who are looking for an exclusive timepiece to track their wildest and fastest laps.

  • Artist Biography

    Girard Perregaux

    Swiss • 1791

Celebrating its 225th anniversary in 2016, the company earned its fame as the first vertically integrated Swiss watchmaking company, manufacturing high-grade movements, cases and dials within its premises. Particularly noteworthy are the brand's three-gold-bridge tourbillon pocket watches built by Constant Girard beginning in 1867 — considered amongst the most beautiful movement architectures ever made. An active participant in Switzerland's observatory chronometry competitions, the brand won so many precision awards that they were excluded from competing in 1901.

Key models include nineteenth and twentieth century pocket watches with three gold bridges, modern tourbillon wristwatches with three gold bridges, minute repeating pocket and wristwatches, as well as sport watches such as the Laureato and Sea Hawk.
