Launched in 2006, the ‘Challenger of Record’ was introduced as a limited edition series of 32 examples made to commemorate the famed Golden Gate Yacht Club and their participation of the 32nd America’s Cup.
Displaying traditional horological craftsmanship with a touch of modern technology and aesthetics, Girard-Perregaux integrated a flying tourbillon escapement into a diver’s watch with a 3000 meter depth rating. To achieve such feat, a thick titanium case was implemented to withstand the pressures of the deep sea. Furthermore, two helium gas escape valves have been attached on both sides of the case band.
The present example is offered with its original accessories including the certificate of authenticity and its original cylindrical presentation box.
