Introduced in 2014 after eight years of development, the F.P. Journe Élégante challenged traditional perceptions of quartz watchmaking through its innovative electro-mechanical movement. Combining advanced technology with the craftsmanship associated with haute horlogerie, the Élégante reflects the brand’s pursuit of precision, originality, and refined design.

Available in 40mm and 48mm sizes, the collection has been crafted in different materials including titanium and Titalyt, as featured on the present example. Created through electro-plasma oxidation of titanium, Titalyt offers increased hardness and resistance while maintaining a lightweight profile. The watch is powered by the caliber 1210, an intelligent movement that enters a low-energy state after 35 minutes of inactivity and automatically resets the hands when motion is detected by the sensor at 4 o’clock.

The present 48mm Titalyt model features a glossy black dial with white Arabic numerals, a chemin de fer minute track, and full Super-LumiNova treatment that glows blue in the dark. Paired with a dark gray rubber strap, it combines contemporary sportiness with F.P. Journe’s signature elegance. Offered with its Guarantee and presentation box, it represents a distinctive addition to any collection.

F.P. Journe

Swiss | 1999

Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.

Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
