GOOD TO KNOW
- Titalyt® case in 40mm
- "Like-new" offered by the original owner
- Full luminescent dial
The present watch is made of titanium, and has undergone the patented Titalyt® treatment to further enhance the hardness, wear and corrosion resistance to the already sturdy titanium case. The electro-plasma oxidation process results in a matte back and ceramic-like finish to the watch, giving a subtle look to the also patented Titalyt® case in 40mm, a watch that combines elegance, sport chic and formality in one.
Housed in the grade 5 titanium case is the groundbreaking electro-mechanical calibre 1210 movement, featuring a mechanical motion detector visible on the dial at the 4:30 position. The watch enters a “hibernation” after 35 minutes of inactivity, in which the hands stop rotating, conserving energy. While the mechanical parts, including the gears and rotors, halt, the microprocessor continues its timekeeping function. The hands readjust to the current time when the watch is being moved again, taking the shortest path, whether clockwise or anticlockwise, to the correct time. Furthermore, what sets the Élégante apart from other F.P. Journe watches is its full-luminescent dial. Entirely applied with Super-LumiNova, the dial enables clear reading of the time with the visibility of the whole dial in its light green fluorescent.
The present watch comes in “like-new” condition, complemented with an additional F.P. Journe charcoal grey rubber strap, interchangeable to match the right occasions.

F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
