GOOD TO KNOW
• Combines a single-button split seconds chronograph with oversized date indication
• Full platinum case and bracelet
• Fresh to the market, full set

First debuted in a unique tantalum case at Only Watch 2017, the split-seconds movement featured in the Chronographe Monopoussoir, the caliber 1518, found its way into production a few months later as part of F.P. Journe’s LineSport collection. Two were available in titanium (with an anthracite or yellow dial), one in pink gold, and one in platinum such as the present watch. The platinum example features a “blue-mauve” (a deep, bluish-purple) dial with a sandblasted 44mm platinum case and bracelet. The LineSport collection is an offshoot of the Octa Sport collection, initially inspired by a particularly athletic client of Journe’s.

The manually-wound caliber 1518 could be viewed as an enhanced iteration of the previous caliber 1517 utilized in the Only Watch version. Rendered in 18K pink gold, the movement is exceptionally refined to Journe's standards featuring perlage on the baseplate, polished screw heads with chamfered slots, circular stripes on the bridges, and straight-graining on the few steel components.

With an immense physical presence on the wrist, the CM is sure to delight the modern Journe collector, and this example is accompanied with all its original accessories.

F.P. Journe

Swiss | 1999

Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.

Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
