The DB28 introduced in 2010 remains the purest expression of his vision with floating lugs that cling to the wrist, and the unmistakable delta-shaped bridge that dominates the dial like a starship insignia.

Yet even the most radical designs eventually confront a simple truth of daily wear. A 43 mm statement piece can feel monumental. Enter the DB28XS Steel Wheels a 38.7mm distillation of the DB28. It is not a mere downsizing exercise. As Flageollet himself has noted, progress requires constant questioning. The result is a watch that feels simultaneously more intimate and more intense.

Crafted almost entirely from grade 5 titanium the DB28XS Steel Wheels is exceptionally light. The patented floating lugs now scaled to the more compact diameter, articulate with the same organic grace but sit more naturally on a wider range of wrists. The openworked dial reveals the titanium twin barrels and the interlocking gear train, while the signature delta-shaped barrel bridge rises above the surface with its microlight grooves and polished chamfers. Heat-blued titanium decorates the piece on its spherical hour markers, skeletonised hands, and the balance wheel with its gold weights. The calibre DB2115V13 delivers a six-day power reserve from its twin barrels with a linear indicator visible on the caseback.

Preserved in nearly unworn condition, the timepiece is complete with its accessories and furthermore accompanied with a stylish green rubber strap as well as a canvas one for versatility.
