Good To Know:
- Launched in 2021 as a limited edition of 10 pieces and now discontinued
- Numbered 2 and very well-preserved
- Double dial wristwatch in titanium with tourbillon
Denis Flageollet’s first double-sided creation, the De Bethune DB Kind of Two, is a masterclass in dual personality. One face is pure contemporary De Bethune: a high-speed 30-second tourbillon beating at 36,000vph, its lighter than raindrop titanium cage weighing just 0.18g spinning twice a minute beneath the brand’s signature delta-shaped bridge. The other face is classical restraint with a large central seconds and hand guilloché dial, designed for discreet wear and precise timing.
The transformation is effortless. Using De Bethune’s patented floating-lug system with a cam mechanism, the watch pivots and locks into either orientation in a single fluid gesture. Despite housing two complete displays, the case measures only 42.8 mm across and an astonishing 9.5 mm thick, making it remarkably wearable.
At its heart lies the hand-wound calibre DB2579 crafted with 256 components, a five-day power reserve from twin self-regulating barrels, a free-sprung titanium balance with white gold weights, and Flageollet’s patented silicon escape wheel and balance spring. Every surface is finished to the highest standard with mirror-polished titanium, hand-chamfered bridges, and the brand’s distinctive flame-blued accents.
Preserved by the original owner is pristine condition and numbered 2 from the limited edition of just 10 pieces, the DBK2TV1 Kind of Two Tourbillon is more than a technical showcase, it is independent watchmaking at its most refined and seductive state.
