GOOD TO KNOW
• Numbered 1 of a limited edition of 5 pieces for the U.S. market
• Like-new, fresh-to-the-market, consigned by the original owner
Introduced as a limited edition of only five pieces made for the U.S. market, this DB25 incorporates the redesigned, hollowed lugs first seen in the 2018 version of the DB25, and a polished and blued titanium dial.
Unlike the DB25 produced in series, this exclusive edition has the polished titanium dial extending through the entirety of the dial, with only gold dots at the elevated rehaut instead of a white outer track with railway minute divisions and Roman numeral hour indicators. The “starry” portion of the dial, customizable at the request of the original owner, spans almost the entirety of the dial, making it seem as though the heavens have been glimpsed through the polished titanium porthole of the case.
Powered by De Bethune’s in-house cal. DB2005, seen through the sapphire caseback polished to a mirror finish and maintaining the sci-fi inspired structure engineered by the brand, the movement possesses two patents and two original innovations that include the titanium balance wheel with white gold inserts, a self-regulating twin-barrel, a flat terminal curve balance spring, the triple pare-chute shock-absorbing system, and a power reserve of up to 6 days on a full wind.
Complete with all its original accessories and never-before-seen at auction, this example of the DB25 “Starry Varius” is a true homage to the celestial, and a horological treasure for the inspired collector.
