Catalogue Essay
Created in 2002, De Bethune soon distinguished itself as one of the most forward-thinking brands in watchmaking, both from an aesthetic and a technical point of view, its futuristic design language can be recognized from afar.

Distinguished with extravagance, the DB25SJ Starry Night is extraordinary and sparkles with elegance. The dark gleam of mirror-polished blued titanium dial sets the stage of the cosmic Geneva sky, illuminating the sky are delicate white gold and diamond stars that twinkles among the ever-wild night sky. Most impressive is the signature spherical moon phase of the brand, however star-studded and casted in platinum and steel for the DB25SJ. Adorned with 44 diamonds and 44 blue sapphires, its moon phases spins on its own axis with exceptional accurate precision that will diverge from astronomical reality by a mere one-day difference every 122 years. This exceptional creation can be personalized by request where the star-studded sky can mimic a specific geographical place and date.

With a sinuous case of 40mm in diameter with De Bethune’s signature hollow lugs, the firm goes further on bejeweling the caseband with 61 beautiful baguette-cut sapphires (weigh 5.29 carats) that resonate harmoniously with the dial. Powered by the hand-crafted DB2024 movement sporting in a mirror-polished finish on the annular balance and triple pare-chute shock-absorbing system, the mechanism can be admired on the reverse of the timepiece. It is believed that since 2012 only 12 examples of the reference have been made. Traveling time and space with elegance, the present example in exceptional condition is offered from the original owner and is fresh to the market.
