I love lot number 46, an 18k yellow gold chased and hammered Gemini Zodiac pendant by David Webb. The time is now (May 20 - June 20) when the liveliest of air signs reign supreme. Energetic, curious, adaptable and kind, Gemini’s are symbolically represented by twins Castor and Pollux, known in Greek mythology as the Dioscuri. Marina Bulgari designed the versatile and timeless ‘Atomo’ collection in the late 1980s with female empowerment in mind. Gone were the days of dainty jewelry; women could choose to wear a bold piece that would make a statement when they walked into the room. Not much has changed in the more than 30 years since the collection debuted – the pieces attract an audience of strong women who exude confidence and beauty. The ‘Atomo’ necklace (Lot 65) is made of lightweight, hollow, unthreaded gold beads. It can be worn with either a little black dress or a t-shirt and jeans, making it a favorite of mine.
