A very rare stainless steel chronograph wristwatch with glossy black dial, telemeter and tachymeter scales
Full-Cataloguing
In the year of 1871, famous watchmaker Henri Sandoz established Sandoz & Cie in Le Locle. Sandoz later relocated to Tavannes in 1891, where he focused on the production of complicated chronographs and repeaters. Soon after this move, Sandoz developed a business with the Schwob brothers, and CYMA was officially registered in 1903. Sandoz applied the most modern manufacturing techniques and produced very high quality timepieces, trademarked as Tavannes, CYMA and CYMA Tavannes.
The quality of the product allowed Tavannes/CYMA to become one of the biggest Swiss watch manufacturers by the early twentieth century. The dial of the present watch is signed CYMA and the movement is signed Tavannes, evidencing the history of the brand. Furthermore, the eye catching printing contrasts impeccably with the glossy black dial surface, bolstering the character of an already interesting vintage chronograph timepiece for the most discerning collectors.
