Catalogue Essay
In 2008, Seiko unveiled a watch of extraordinary finesse - the Credor Eichi, meaning "wisdom" in Japanese. Limited to just 25 pieces, it represented their pursuit of perfection in a simple, time-only wristwatch with power reserve indication.

At first glance, the Eichi's dial strikes with minimalist purity - time and power reserve displayed with sparse elegance. The fragile whiteness of Noritake porcelain evokes pristine snowfall, nodding to Seiko's Shiojiri origins. Against this canvas, hand-painted markers and text provide subtle contrast, framed by blued steel hands. From certain angles, faint numerals 2, 4 and 7 become visible - a signature Credor allusion to 24 hours, 7 days. Even the crown conceals mindfulness in its design, bearing a tiny emblematic porcelain insert.

The in-house cal. 7R08 is where mastery shines through. Taking advice from Dufour himself, Seiko's artisans performed finishing of extraordinary finesse. Floral motifs, beveled edges, polished screw heads - each decorates the movement with meticulous dedication. This unique fusion of innovation and tradition has sparked immense respect from the highest echelons of watchmaking.

For connoisseurs, the present Eichi, exceptionally well-preserved with its full set of accessories, represents horology elevated to its purest form like it was featured in our thematic trailer during a tea ceremony - the beauty of complex engineering distilled into a minimalist masterpiece, and brought to life through craftsmanship's poetry in motion. A paragon of Japanese perfectionism, destined to be admired for generations to come.
