Full-Cataloguing
Good to know:
- Numbered 50 out of a limited edition of 50 pieces per dial colour
- Redesign of the brand’s famous Ariadne model
- Frosted salmon dial with engraved self-winding rotor
- Founded in 1974 by A.H.C.I. member Christiaan van der Klaauw, the brand is known for making astronomical clocks, and now diving deeper into astronomical and fine watchmaking.
- The present watch is a redesigned Ariadne, the brand’s emblematic model, being the only chronograph within the Christiaan van der Klaauw collection and the first watch to be released under the new leadership of master watchmaker Pim Koeslag. Made for their long-time retail partner Reijersen Juweliers, there are two available dial colours, frosted salmon and frosted turquoise, which each colour is limited to 50 pieces.
- Fitted with a frosted salmon dial, the watch features a 30-minute counter, a 24-hour indication, and a complete calendar displaying day, date, and month, all arranged for immediate legibility. The moon phases indication is applied with luminous material, giving a nice touch to the complication. The brand’s signature “zonnenklaauw” symbol can be seen at the 3 o’clock position, bigger than old Ariadne models.
- Through the see-through caseback, one can appreciate the nicely decorated self-winding rotor chased and engraved with the Sun of Claw emblem oscillating the Valjoux based cal. CVDK7758 movement. Engraved by German master engraver Jochen Benzinger, the engraved and guilloché rotor shows the fine craftsmanship of the brand.
- Limited to 50 pieces and numbered 50 of the retailer Collector’s Edition, this is a great opportunity to possess such delicate piece of fine Dutch watchmaking legacy.
The full proceeds of this lot will be donated to the Fondation Paralysie Cérébrale FPC.
