- Breguet released the Horloger de la Marine collection back in 1990, paying tribute to the legacy of founder Abraham-Louis Breguet, and his appointed status as the “Official Watchmaker to the French Royal Navy”. It is a recognition in the precision and mastery of marine chronometers, an honour not many could receive.
- Smaller than the ref. 3460 and slightly bigger than the ref. 8490, this neo-vintage ref. 4460 falls in the middle in 32.5mm 18K white gold case. It features a signature coin-edge design with vertical grooves and integrated lugs. The dial is decorated with the distinctive Clous de Paris guilloché pattern matched with Grain d'Orge guilloché subsidiary dials. It is also paired with, for sure, Breguet hands and Roman numerals.
- The present watch operates on the cal. 576, which is based on the Frédéric Piguet cal. 1185. The self-winding chronograph movement is reliable, and the ultra-thin property allows the watch to keep such slim profile. Even the movement cannot be seen without opening the caseback, Breguet still decorated the rotor with guilloché, showing how the manufacturer pays attention even to the smallest details.
