Ref. 7727
Classique La Chronométrie “10Hz”
An innovative and elegant white gold chronometer wristwatch with high-frequency movement, silicon escapement, magnetic pivots, warranty, and presentation box
Full-Cataloguing
• Innovative high-beat escapement with magnetic pivots
• Fresh-to-the-market, full set
Presented in 2012, the Breguet Classique Chronomètrie was the very first wristwatch to use magnetic pivots within an escapement to increase the watch's accuracy to an impressive -1/+3 seconds a day.
The 7727 incorporates 6 separate patents in one immensely innovative, 41mm wristwatch. The balance spring, pallet lever, and escape wheel are all made of silicon, thus eliminating parts of the movement that would otherwise be susceptible to magnetic fields and exponentially increasing precision. The movement overall is lighter, hence the 10Hz frequency, and is able to run without oil. Two end stones with powerful micro-magnets keep the balance staff centered, allowing it to self-adjust when the watch takes a shock.
The dial is beautifully guillochéd as one can expect from Breguet, the continuous seconds are placed at 12 o’clock, and right beside it a small hand makes a complete revolution in 2 seconds, indicating the tenth of a seconds. A power reserve indicator is placed gracefully at 5 o’clock, and two secret signatures are incorporated into the dial. The case is classic Breguet with a coin-edge mid-case. This innovative, conceptual timepiece is preserved in excellent condition with its full suite of accessories.
Breguet
Swiss | 1775Established in 1775 by Abraham Louis Breguet, widely considered the greatest watchmaker of all time, the storied brand continues to thrive in the modern era, creating exceptional high-end watches as the Swatch Group's premier prestige brand. Some of the most important and lasting inventions in watchmaking are attributed to Abraham Louis Breguet, including the tourbillon, shock resistance and the use of hammers and gongs employed in nearly all minute repeating watches made since.
Eighteenth and nineteenth century Breguet pocketwatches are especially sought-after by collectors, and many of them were made for the elite of European society, including Napoléon and Marie Antoinette. Key wristwatches from the twentieth century include oversized dress watches, two-register chronographs, triple calendars and Type XX aviator's chronographs made for the French military and civilians.
