  • Catalogue Essay

It is with no doubt that the present example an Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Chronometer is one of the most impressive pieces in the collection by the famed manufacturer from Le Brasuss. The present example displays the rich horological history of the manufacturer through its excellent execution of producing high quality movements and escapements. Housed in the 46 millimeter case is the impressive cal. 2908 featuring a double barrel for extended power reserve and the innovative Audemars Piguet direct-impulse escapement, presented in a traditional round case that showcases the beautiful movement aesthetics through depth.

Furthermore, aside from the exhilarating movement architecture presented on this present example, the performance of the movement is advanced. With the frequency at 6 Hertz, the escapement vibrates at a much higher frequency in comparison to the average wristwatch at 4 Hertz with 28,800 vibrations per hour. At 6 Hertz the escapement produces a significantly higher frequency at 43,200 vibrations per hour, which equates to an enhanced precision for timekeeping.

The present example is further accompanied by the full set of accessories which adds another element of attraction towards this impressive Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Chronometer wristwatch in platinum.
