  • Catalogue Essay

In 1992 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Royal oak Audemars Piguet introduced limited edition Royal Oak with salmon dial, a first for this color dial within the Royal oak family. In the early 2000 reintroduced the coveted and enticing salmon dial in two new models, a platinum perpetual calendar and a white gold chronograph like the present example.

From afar the case may look like stainless steel but the silver hue of the white gold case and bracelet is unmistakable and is a perfect frame for the glamorous salmon dial. The square luminous markers are also indication that the case is in precious metal (the steel case chronographs have baton luminous markers.

On the wrist, the watch has a certain glorious heft that only the wearer will witness. In absolutely superb condition the present Royal Oak Chronograph is offered with its complete set of accessories and will delight the avid collector with its state of preservation, ultimate rarity and beauty.

    Audemars Piguet

    Swiss • 1881

A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family.
