To mark the Royal Oak collection's golden jubilee in 2022, Audemars Piguet unveiled the Royal Oak Selfwinding "50th Anniversary" series to commemorate the landmark design.
This special edition features the return of the iconic "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" dial shade, the precise hue created for the original 1972 reference 5402. Executed in the signature "Grande Tapisserie" pattern, the deep blue dial offers a striking contrast against the warm tones of the 18K pink gold case. The dial layout is further updated with resized hour markers and hands designed to enhance legibility while maintaining classic Royal Oak proportions.
A hallmark of the 2022 anniversary production run is the dedicated 50th-anniversary winding rotor, cast in 18K pink gold and rendered with a special commemorative logo visible through the sapphire crystal display back. Offered in like-new overall condition by its original owner, the present watch represents one of these strictly limited 2022-production models fitted with the commemorative rotor. It is offered as a full set complete with an additional strap, presentation box, 50th anniversary Certificate of Origin and international warranty card.
