- Developed for over 5 years, the CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet was released in 2019 to be a new collection with a fully in-house manufactured movement. The name CODE stands for ‘Challenge, Own, Dare, Evolve”, and the numbers 11:59 takes the last minute before midnight, which represents the anticipation to a new day and future.
- The clocks were not for sale to the public— they were only gifted to important clients of Audemars Piguet. Whilst the first CODE 11.59 alarm clocks came out around 2019 and 2020 to accompany the 2019 release of the wristwatches, the present clock resembles the ref. 26393OR.OO.A028CR.01 released in 2021, a self-winding CODE 11.59 chronograph with smokey blue dial in 18K pink gold.
- Featuring a similar architecture to the ref. 26393OR.OO.A028CR.01, this alarm clock features a similar appearance, but it is a gilded stainless steel case instead of 18K pink gold. The smokey blue dial is replaced with a navy blue dial. While there are chronograph pushers and subsidiary dials, they are not functional but for aesthetic purposes. The centre seconds hand is also repurposed as the alarm clock hand.
- Kept in excellent, pristine “like-new” condition, this alarm clock would be a nice table décor for collectors and enthusiasts of Audemars Piguet.
