Good To Know:
- Smoky Blue enamel dial
- Presented in SIHH 2016 as a Supersonnerie
- Full set and accompanied with a rare piano-shaped resonance box

Unveiled at SIHH 2016 as the revolutionary Concept Supersonnerie, this extraordinary complication does not merely chime, it performs for a crowd. Conceived as a true musical instrument, it received three patents that redefined what a wrist-worn repeater could be: specially shaped gongs, a refined regulator that tempers the strike with perfect cadence, and a groundbreaking caseback pierced with carefully calculated apertures that liberate the sound rather than muffle it. The result is a minute repeater of rare authority, louder, clearer, and more melodious on the wrist than almost any other ever made.

This particular example elevates the concept into the realm of pure elegance. Its smoky blue enamel dial is extremely attractive with a slight touch of sportiness. The Roman numerals, themselves crafted in enamel, were fused into the dial during firing so that they appear to float within the colour rather than sit upon it.

The case is hefty platinum, its reverse engraved with the quiet image of a master watchmaker bent over his bench. A silent tribute to the centuries of craft that made this watch possible.

Presented as a full set example and accompanied by the exceedingly rare piano-shaped resonance box, this Supersonnerie is more than a timepiece. It is an instrument of pure emotion, a private concert that unfolds on the wrist whenever the owner chooses to hear it.

Audemars Piguet

Swiss | 1881

A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.

Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
