The Royal Oak Self-winding reference 15510BC.OO.1320BC.04 presents a refined and luxurious interpretation of Audemars Piguet’s iconic design. Crafted in 18k white gold, the 41 mm case is paired with a matching integrated bracelet, giving the model a discreet yet substantial presence on the wrist. Initially offered as an exclusive special edition for the Japan market, its most distinctive feature is the smoked blue “Grande Tapisserie” dial, whose darkened periphery and silver-grey inner bezel lend notable depth and visual nuance to the watch’s signature architecture.
Powered by the self-winding caliber 4302, the watch displays the hours, minutes, center seconds, and date, and offers a 70-hour power reserve. Measuring 10.5 mm in thickness and fitted with sapphire crystals front and back, the model combines everyday wearability with the elevated finish and materiality expected of a precious metal Royal Oak. The integrated white gold bracelet is fitted with a three-blade folding clasp, completing one of the more elegant contemporary executions of the Royal Oak in Audemars Piguet’s current collection.
Appearing for the first time at a Phillips Watch auction, the present example is offered in virtually brand new, unworn condition.
Audemars Piguet
Swiss | 1881A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.
Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
