-Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak wristwatch was created in 1972 during the depths of the quartz crisis as a luxurious automatic stainless steel timepiece becoming the brand’s most successful model. In 1992, for its 20th anniversary, AP introduced the Offshore model as an updated, robust sporty chronograph with a prominent rubber gasket sandwiched between the case and bezel. Both models evolved over time including the use of advanced materials and complications.

The reference 26401RO launched in 2013 is an updated Offshore with pink gold case and black ceramic bezel and pushers. Known for its hardness and scratch resistance, ceramic began to appear in the horological world in the early 1960s, but became a contemporary mainstream addition in the early 2000s and today is found on many Audemars Piguet models used both for bezels and for full ceramic cases.
-The present Royal Oak Offshore from circa 2014 is preserved in excellent condition, with minor signs of wear.
