-With the 1993 release of the Royal Oak Offshore, Audemars Piguet sought to update the iconic Royal Oak with a sporty and even more masculine aesthetic. Stephen Urquhart, then managing director of AP, asked designer Emmanuel Gueit to update the model with a larger version in hopes of attracting a younger, more recreational buyer. Gueit retained the Royal Oak’s classic design, but the original’s 39mm case diameter was enlarged to a 42mm diameter case, which when released, was referred to as the “Beast”.
-The Royal Oak Offshore Ryder Cup Europe was launched in 2021 in a limited edition of 50 timepieces. The watches were created for Team Europe competing at the Ryder Cup Whistiling Straits in Wisconsin. The 44mm diameter steel case is highlighted by a blue ceramic bezel, crown, and chronograph pushers, along with a blue Méga Tapisserie dial, and yellow and blue rubber strap. Ryder Cup AP brand ambassadors Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson are two team members seen wearing the chronograph.
- The present model is offered by the original owner, preserved in pristine, like-new condition and offered with it complete suite of accessories.
