Catalogue Essay
As the pioneer of the luxury sports watch, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak has continuously evolved since its audacious debut in 1972. While remaining faithful to Gerald Genta's original visionary aesthetic, the collection has expanded to offer diverse materials, complications and sizes - all unified by the Royal Oak's identity.

The present Royal Oak ref. 26330ST represents a particularly rare interpretation of this icon. At 39mm diameter, it reimagines the Royal Oak's revered "Jumbo" ref. 5402 proportions with a combined day-date function, enclosed within the angular steel case. While other Royal Oak references had integrated a day-date since 1978, none had done so at this iconic size.

Paired with a handsome black dial, this particular example is also well-preserved in unpolished condition. Accompanied by its original certificate and presentation box, this ref. 26330ST holds immense collectible value given the short production span of this “Jumbo” sized Day-Date Royal Oak.

Audemars Piguet

Swiss | 1881
A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.
Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
