Catalogue Essay
- The present Jules Audemars ref. 14894BC was introduced in the 1990s. This exotic and elegant timepiece is a fantastic example of the understated Audemars Piguet dress watches that are often overlooked by the more prevalent sports model, the Royal Oak.

- Beautifully cased in a petite 34mm white gold case, this watch is a classic that perfectly encapsulates the traditional values of the Le Brassus-based manufacturer through its clean aesthetics and stylistic approach. Starting from its minimalist case, the timepiece wears comfortably on the wrist thanks to its exceptionally thin profile, another trait of the Audemars Piguet watchmaking ethos. The sleek appeal of the case allows for a more reserved wrist presence whilst highlighting the dial.

- The present watch is fitted with a poetic blue dial, tastefully executed with a combination of classic features and delicate finishes. No ordinary dial, the guilloche center is surrounded by a smooth opaline-finish hour chapter that gives the otherwise muted canvas a sense of depth and dimension. The chapter ring also highlights the applied white gold Breguet numerals positioned at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, along with the complementary baton indexes. Completed with a pair of polished feuille hands, the overall allure appeals immensely to the contemporary wrist.

- Offered in excellent overall condition, the present Jules Audemars ref. 14894BC is further delivered with an Audemars Piguet Extract from the Archives and a customised suede strap that matches the celestial blue dial.

Audemars Piguet

Swiss | 1881
A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.
Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
