Catalogue Essay
One of the most complicated in the family is the Royal Oak Offshore Double Barrel Tourbillon. Initially introduced in 2010, the model featured a larger case than its regular counterpart measuring 44mm in diameter. Fitted inside the case is the in-house manual calibre 2933 featuring a double barrel tourbillon chronograph complication. With a power reserve of 237 hours, regular timepieces average 48 hours of reserve, the compliment is achieved by the double-barrel mechanism enabling the calibre to reserve energy for a much longer period of time.
Furthermore, the tourbillon escapement featured vertically on the left side of the dial provides an enhanced gravitational compensation to the movement achieving a better precision. The model was available with 4 iterations with each featuring different case materials.
The present example encased in platinum and fitted with a black ceramic bezel launched in 2014 and produced for a short period of time. Presented in excellent overall condition with very minimal signs of use and wear, the present timepiece is also accompanied by the full set of accessories.
