Royal Oak Chronograph

A rare and attractive stainless steel chronograph wristwatch with date, bracelet, cream dial, presentation box and certificate

Audemars Piguet launched their sporty chronograph line, the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph in 1993 with rubber clad chronograph buttons, however it was not until 1998 that they returned to the more traditional line of Royal Oak, with the release of the Royal Oak Chronograph, similar to the present watch. The case is 41mm, compared to the earlier 39mm and is in line with the taste for large size cases. The watch is highly finished both on the case and bracelet.

The Royal Oak Chronograph has a strong appeal, but a dressier attitude compared to sporty Royal Oak Off-shore. It can easily go from the outdoors to the boardroom. The present example is in very nice condition and features a rare cream dial. It is accompanied with the box and papers and is a wonderful example to wear and enjoy.

Audemars Piguet

Swiss | 1881

A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.

Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
