Good to know:
- Limited edition of 100 pieces made for A. Lange & Söhne boutiques
- First time featuring a purple guilloché dial by the brand
- Offered in “new-old-stock” condition with factory stickers, only example to appear at auction

- Renowned for its excellent craftsmanship in haute horlogerie, the Lange 1 has been A. Lange & Söhne defining model ever since its debut in 1994 as part of the brand’s modern revival. The asymmetrical layout, outsized date display and detailed craftwork have made the Lange 1 to be one of the most recognizable models of the German manufacturer.

- The present example, the Little Lange 1, carries the brilliant design, excellent mechanism and impeccable craftsmanship of the iconic Lange 1, fitting it into a smaller 18K white gold case, which is 1.7mm smaller in diameter. Launched in 2019 and limited to 100 pieces only available to purchase through A. Lange & Söhne boutiques, it features a purple guilloché dial, in which the brand has done it for the first time, giving it a majestic and elegant appearance.

- A. Lange & Söhne does not compromise when it comes to details in watchmaking. The cal. L121.1 movement features an in-house crafted balance wheel with eccentric poising weights. Almost all the edges of plates, bridges and levers are chamfered at A. Lange & Söhne, and bevels are polished entire by hands.

- The watch comes with its factory stickers still intact. It is by far the only example to appear at the auction market. For watch collectors looking for a classy and elegant dresswatch with a different colour scheme, this limited edition Little Lange 1 would be the ideal choice.

A. Lange & Söhne

German | 1845

Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.

On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
