In 1996, Walter Lange introduced the 1815 collection in honor of his great-grandfather’s birth in 1815. As the first new line released following the original 1994 quartet of watches, its design was distinguished by refined cases, railway-track minute scales and prominent Arabic numerals—details reminiscent of Lange’s high-grade historic pocket watches.

In 2015, the launch of the 1815 Chronograph Boutique Edition captured attention with its striking color palette. Highlighted with crisp blue accents, a colorway previously unused for the collection, the watch also brought back the highly desirable pulsometer scale.

At the heart of this exceptional timepiece beats the manually wound calibre L951.5, a movement renowned for its technical sophistication and exquisite hand finishing. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the architecture showcases signature Lange craftsmanship, including a column wheel, flyback function and a hand-engraved balance cock. The Glashütte ribbing, polished chamfers and blued screws further underscore the manufacture’s dedication to horological artistry.

Framed within a warm white gold case measuring a well-proportioned 39.5mm in diameter, this boutique exclusive model possesses immense visual charm. Adding to its overall allure, the present example is accompanied by its original guarantee and presentation box.

A. Lange & Söhne

German | 1845

Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.

On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
