      - Released in 2016 in a limited edition of 100 pieces in platinum, the A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon is one of the most impressive models released by the manufacture in the last decade. The model combines the trifecta of an instantaneous perpetual calendar, chronograph and tourbillon in a Datograph dial/case format, and both the dial and movement are a feast for the eyes. With immense heft, the watch is physically impressive, with a striking black dial and black date indication with contrasting white graphics (a detail that enthusiasts of the brand particularly love).

      - Behind the watch reveals the arguably most beautiful component of the watch: the movement. Beating inside the timepiece is the caliber L952.2, which was derived from the Datograph Perpetual movement, the caliber L952.1. While the tourbillon cannot be seen on the dial side, the open caseback reveals the tourbillon cage behind 12 o'clock. The movement itself is composed of 729 parts, and is beautifully finished, showcasing exactly what the Saxon manufacture is best known for. The bridges on the movement shine beautifully, with perfectly beveled edges. The base of the tourbillon bridge is hand-engraved in typical A. Lange & Söhne style, which is most often found on the balance cock.

      - Preserved in excellent and barely worn condition, the timepiece is furthermore accompanied by its A. Lange & Söhne Guarantee dated December 05, 2017, product literature, wallet, numbered presentation box and outer packaging.

      A. Lange & Söhne

      German • 1845

Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.

On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
