Designed as a series of laurel leaves which is a symbol of honour and victory, this lot also bears witness to the versatility of jewels designed during late 19th century. High boned collars, plunging necklines, voluminous coiffure, women of that time could either wear this lot as a choker necklace, covert it to a hairband-like tiara, or transform it into a very chic bandeau on one’s forehead. Modern-day patron of this trend includes the late Princess Diana.
