Good to know:
- Collaboration between Zenith and SJX Watches, limited to 200 pieces
- Reimagined vintage G383 with luminous dial and strap
- Design catering modern aesthetic, fitted with vintage movement used by the G383

- In the daring and experimental times in the late 1960s, Zenith released the El Primero reference G383 in a limited production of 200 pieces. Sharing a similar case as the earlier G382, the G383 bears an ostentatious dial design of radiating lines in black, window panes of gold paint, and alternating fan-like apertures dividing the inner dial. Its similarity to casino chips has led to the very fitting nickname “Poker Chip”.

- In 2021, the G383 was revived and reimagined under the collaboration Zenith and SJX Watches, releasing the Chronomaster Revival A386, also in a limited production of 200 pieces. It features a dial in dark grey with matte black segments with Super-Luminova patterns that pays homage to the vintage original.

- The watch is cased in a robust titanium case in sandblasted matte texture, adding a bit of modernity to the surface of the revived model. The lugs and exterior profile look different compared to the vintage model, catering the modern aesthetic. Beating inside is the El Primero cal. 400 which is the same movement found in the ref. G383, making it a reimagined vintage watch with the same, still reliable, movement.

- Paired with a glow-in-the-dark strap showing the playfulness of the collaboration, this “like-new” condition Chronomaster Revival “Poker Chip” would surely be every Zenith fan’s unmissable timepiece.

Zenith

Swiss | 1865

Since Zenith's beginnings, founder George Favre-Jacot sought to manufacture precision timepieces, realizing quality control was best maintained when production was housed under one roof. Zenith remains one of the few Swiss manufacturers to produce their own in-house movements to this day.

Today, the brand is best known for the "El Primero," the firm's most successful automatic chronograph movement. In an interesting twist of fate, the company that owned Zenith during the 1970s decided to move on to quartz movements and therefore sought to destroy the parts and tools necessary to make mechanical movements. One watchmaker realized this folly and hid the tools and parts before they were destroyed. In 1984, he returned them to Zenith so they could once again make the El Primero movement.
