The 5056 was first introduced in 1998 and remained in production until 2006. The annual calendar mechanism, patented by Patek Philippe in 1996 is a calendar which only requires adjusting once a year at the end of February. The 5056 is fitted with a 36 hour power indicator whereas the annual calendar ref. 5035 was fitted without.
