The lugs of a wristwatch can completely change its looks and many manufacturers played with numerous ideas and designs throughout the 20th century. With its substantial cone shaped lugs reference 1536 is without a doubt one of Patek Philippe’s boldest and most artistic design of the 1940s.The present example in rose gold is fitted with calibre 12-120 SC, featuring indirect centre seconds. This ébauche, originally designed to feature subsidiary seconds, was upgraded by Victorin Piguet upon Patek Philippe’s request.
