  • In his Silver Series, Matthew Brandt foregrounds the central role of silver in the history of photography. By applying a solution of silver to his large-scale gelatin silver prints, Brandt transforms his images of trees and foliage into unique reflective objects. As seen in the work offered here, the mirroring effect obfuscates parts of the picture, substituting the original subject with the viewer’s reflection.
