Released in 2019, the IWC Pilot’s Watch made exclusively for The Rake and Revolution magazine is a jaw-dropping timepiece. Inspired from the original Mark 11 designed by Ernst Jakob Homberger, former owner of IWC, the special edition features a rather vintage inspired 36mm case in bronze. Ecstatic and visually striking, the combination of bronze with a British racing green dial, creamy off-white Arabic numerals and “faux-patinated” luminous hour markers at 3,6,9 & 12 O’clock certainly paid off as it is the first Pilots’ model to feature such combination.

The present example numbered 4 of a limited edition of 150 pieces is offered in unworn condition and is further complete with the full set of accessories. Fitted with NATO-style strap made from Russian reindeer hides recovered from the sunken Spanish frigate Metta Catharina, createdby George Cleverley and further accompanied by two extra NATO straps made by renowned strapmaker J.P. Menicucci and its bronze-coloured keepers by NOMAD Watch Works, the present special edition is without a doubt value for buck. A perfect choice for the modern gentlemen to wear along with a pair of rakish vintage aviators.
