The Harry Winston Tourbillon Glissière was developed in 2005 through a collaboration between the renowned American jewelry house and acclaimed independent watchmaker Christophe Claret.

At the heart of the Tourbillon Glissière is the skeletonized cal. CC-CHW97A, featuring a 51-hour power reserve. But what makes it truly revolutionary is the winding system. Instead of a traditional rotor, two platinum blocks slide back and forth freely on metal rods. Their independent motion winds the mainspring through an intricate series of platinum fan-shaped gears on the back of the movement.

This novel "sliding" winding concept drew inspiration from the pistons, wheels and rails of a steam locomotive. The aesthetics of the gear train evoke the mechanical elegance of early railroad engineering. Bringing this creative idea to fruition required tremendous expertise in watch complications and technical mastery from both Harry Winston and Christophe Claret.

In 2007, the ingenuity and flawless execution of the Tourbillon Glissière was recognized by the Grand Prix d’Horologerie award in the Technical Watch category. Truly an outstanding example of 21st century high watchmaking, this timepiece demonstrates the pinnacle of creativity that can emerge from horology's most visionary minds.

The present example in white gold is numbered 22 of a limited edition of 25 pieces. Preserved in excellent condition and complete with accessories, this prize-winning timepiece is a highly coveted collector's item for connoisseurs of high watchmaking.
