Catalogue Essay
The present pair of armchairs are the only two existing examples from a set of six from the New York apartment of Charles and Marguerita Mergentime. One of the chairs from this set of six was included in the Frederick Kiesler exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, January 18-April 16, 1989. Kiesler's prolific designs for furniture and lighting are well-documented, though examples of realized models are rare.
