  • Catalogue Essay

In 1935 Flemming Lassen designed three armchairs, ‘The Tired Man’, ‘The Hussar’ and the present model, sometimes referred to as the ‘Third’ armchair. The armchairs are illustrated together in the accompanying preparatory drawing, which Lassen submitted to the furniture competition for a ‘living room in a bachelor’s apartment’ in 1935, held in association with the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild. The drawing is courtesy of the Danish National Art Library - Royal Danish Library.
