Catalogue Essay
Introduced in 2008, F.P. Journe created a very unique set of prestigious writing instruments. Created in a limited series, the instruments are available in ether platinum and titanium or pink gold and titanium. Both sets are available in a limited series of 500 pieces and the present lot is numbered 007.This limited edition set is comprised of a ballpoint pen or roller pen and a fountain pen. Both instruments are made and finished from hand and signed at the top. The fountain pen should receive particular attention as it is highly unusual. Instead of being fitted with a top or lid, Journe patented a new concept, the retractable system whereby screwing the top of the pen, the nib of the fountain pen is revealed through 6 flaps that open and close very similar to the petals of a flower. This limited edition set is offered in “like new” condition.

F.P. Journe

Swiss | 1999
Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.

Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
