F. P. Journe unveiled his Octa Sport line in 2011, made originally in ultra-light aluminium cases, the collection was inspired by an important collector, aficionado of the brand who is a sportsman that is committed with a passion of marathon and triathlon competitions. With the need of an ultra light sports watch coupled with a movement of haute horlogerie, the sports collection was born.

Presented in 2014, the Octa Sport is an unprecedented astonishingly light timepiece thanks to the new use of material, Titanium. Sporting in a sleek grey appeal and tonal matching dial made with aluminium, the watch features a day and night indication at 9 o’clock, followed by a power reserve indication and a large date with racing red accents, furthermore the hour markers are luminous with optimized readability all day long.

Fitted with the new cal. 1300.3 the movement is made of aluminium which sets itself apart from the regular 18K pink gold used in Journe’s movements, along with an off centre winding rotor in Titanium with Tungsten segment barrel. Weighing no more than 70 grams including the bracelet, the present Octa Sport had barely seen any wrist action and is ready for any intense sports activity.

F.P. Journe

Swiss | 1999
Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.

Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
