    - In 1904, Louis Cartier fulfilled the request of the renowned Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: the ability to tell time while in flight. This marked the birth of one of the earliest Cartier wristwatches and solidified the friendship between these two pioneers. The watch's distinctive features, such as the rounded angles of the dial, the elegant curve of the lugs, and the exposed screws, created an iconic timepiece that would go on to inspire numerous reinterpretations.

    - Among Cartier's modern releases, the current iteration of the Santos stands out. Nicknamed the "Noctambule," meaning "night owl," it boasts a stealthy appearance thanks to its ADLC coating. The skeletonized dial is captivating, with luminescent materials adorning the movement bridges and even on the Cartier signature, adding a fascinating and alluring touch to the watch.

    - This watch is being offered without reserve and is exceptionally well-preserved together with all the accompanying accessories. Its lightweight construction and versatility make it suitable for any occasion, whether dressing up or down.

    Cartier

    French

With the Constitution of 1848 came a new standard for luxury in France. Founded one year prior by Louis-Francois Cartier, the house of Cartier was one of the first to use platinum in jewelry making. This incredibly expensive material became the stepping-stone for Cartier to experiment in form, mechanisms and attitude. It helped men move from pocket watches to wristwatches, effectively making the watch much more functional and prominent in a man's overall wardrobe.

Cartier did not only touch on functionality. Inspired by a commissioned painting by George Barbier featuring a black panther at the feet of an elegantly bejeweled woman, Cartier began incorporating wild animals in his designs—most notably, Cartier Panthère rings, bangle bracelets and watches. Yet it wasn't until the late 1960s that the house of Cartier debuted their iconic yellow and rose gold LOVE collection, which includes the famous bracelet that only a special screwdriver can open.
